Setting Up The Host Co with Hostaway
Step 1: Connect Your Hostaway Account to The Host Co

Open the Hostaway Marketplace
In your Hostaway account, navigate to the Marketplace and select "The Host Co". -
Create a Host Co Account
- Click the link provided to visit The Host Co platform.
- If you don’t already have an account, sign up for one.

Set Up the Integration
- Once you’ve signed up, go to "Partners" in your Host Co dashboard.
- Select "Hostaway" and click "Continue" to connect your accounts.

Generate Your Hostaway API Key
- Return to the Hostaway Marketplace to create your API key and secret key. To create a new API key, please follow these steps:
- Go to your Hostaway Dashboard > Marketplace
- Look for "The Host Co" and click Connect
- On The Host Co page, click Connect, then click Create
- Copy the Account ID and API Secret Key
- Return to the Hostaway Marketplace to create your API key and secret key. To create a new API key, please follow these steps:

Link the Token in The Host Co
Return to The Host Co dashboard.- Paste the API key and secret key in the designated fields and click "Submit".
Step 2: Import Your Hostaway Properties and Create Stores

Select Properties
- Once your accounts are connected, your Hostaway properties will begin importing.
- Choose which properties you want to create Host Co stores for.

Create Stores
- Click "Create Stores". Your stores will be pre-populated with:
- Local services like private massages and chefs.
- Customizable options like late check-outs.

Edit and Customize
- Edit the pre-populated items or add your own products and services.
- Use the duplication feature to:
- Set up one store and duplicate it for other properties.
- Create one item and apply it across all stores.

Step 3: Share Your Store Links with Guests

Find Your Store Links
- Each store link is automatically imported to your Hostaway property under the variable {{listing_hostco}}.

Update Automated Messaging in Hostaway
- Go to your "Message Templates" in Hostaway.
- Add your store link variable to relevant messages:
- Example: “If you’re interested in amenities like massages, chefs, or mid-stay cleaning, check out our store: {{listing_hostco}}.”
- Save your changes and activate the messages.

- Share the store link at key moments:
- At booking.
- One week before check-in.
- At check-in.

Step 4: Starting from The Host Co Platform
If you’re starting from The Host Co:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to "Partners" and select "Hostaway".
- Follow the steps above to complete the integration.

FAQ and Troubleshooting
Can I add more Hostaway listings as Host Co stores over time?
Yes. Reconnect the integration and select only your new stores to import. This will not remove or modify your existing stores.
If I duplicate a store and rename it (creating a new store) will this new store show up in the Hostaway custom field?
No, you’ll need to copy and paste the new store link into Hostaway.
Will The Host Co change the time of checking on my Hostaway calendar if I approve a late check out?
Not currently, this feature is on our roadmap.
Can I create Host Co stores for properties outside of the United States?
Yes! The Host Co works globally. All prices are currently displayed in USD and multi-currency is on the short-term roadmap.
Can guest purchase items with credit cards from other countries?
Yes.
